I LOVE that they have gotten really into drawing and painting right when I have to spend a lot of time nursing. It's so perfect.

Moved into the final stage of my flag project. I just need to sew the three sections together and then finish the edges!

I am very very close to being done with my flag! This is the last of the stripe assembly seams (and then I just have to join the three sections together), so I'm documenting how I did it.

Not my work - detail of a large embroidered piece hanging in our bedroom. Got this at the flea market for $5.

I have some kind of nasty today, and spent most of the day here (that's my spot on the right). Nobody likes being sick, but all in all, not too bad a way to spend a day. The bed-mate is pretty sweet.

We went over to a friend's house and got to meet a baby younger than James! Baby Tabitha is just 6 days old! So cute! Potential future girlfriend?

James posing with the yarn for his fall sweater. It's Falkland Superwash from Wolf Creek Wools, which I got at Black Sheep Gathering. I think I'm going to do Joelle Hoverson's pullover (Ravelry link).

Went to the annual Fathers' Day classic car show at the mall. This acid yellow & green Studebaker was one of my favorites.

Nearly halfway done with the stripes for my flag! I'll sew these two sections together tomorrow and then I can attach the union to them.

The view from my studio. The weather is lovely, but that also means the pollen is off the charts. If I go outside, I can't breathe. So everyone else plays in the yard while I watch from inside.

Mei-tai carrier

UPDATE as of 7.13.11: I am selling this Mei-tai carrier. It is in great, barely used condition. Please comment or message me for details and pricing.

Mei-tai carrier

I finally finished up the Mei-tai carrier I've been working on. This is my own design, a modified version of one I purchased when Otto was an infant (which had a few things I didn't like about it).

The back panel is patchwork on the outside and a single FQ on the inside, quilted with simple vertical lines. The straps are double layers of fabric which also act as the binding for the back panel.

Outside and inside views:

Otto brought all this back from a walk with my mom and then made a lovely arrangement for me to photograph.

Watching the classic car parade in Junction City. Our first major outing! Otto loved it. Henry thought the cars were too loud. James slept in the Moby wrap the entire time, but got lots of compliments/congratulations from older ladies. Ladies love cool James.

James, 6 days old.

We are all totally smitten with this little dude. He is very mellow, sleeping a lot, and spending his awake time either nursing or just chilling out and looking at all the things to see around him. We're making the transition to the new normal fairly well, with Henry having the worst time of it (it's hard to go from little brother to middle!), but he's very fond of James and is making the adjustment in his way.
