Today figured out that I can watch Netflix instant and edit photos at the same time! And of course I was sewing at the same time as well. Multitask!

Otto lost both top front teeth (one last week, the other today), so he's got the classic double-gap look.

Did a really excellent photoshoot with the PORKETTES today, but you'll have to wait for PORK #3 (coming out July 15) to see the real deals. Here's a great out-take (the photographer losing her balance).

Tried out knitting night at The Divine Cupcake. I had a violet cupcake and limonata soda. So tasty! And I enjoyed the company of these knitters very much!

Makeda's Grey & Gold Quilt

grey & gold baby quilt

I made this quilt back in April for my niece Makeda (born in May, had to wait to show the pics!). My own design, 33" x 39". Although the front looks nothing like my last quilt, they both have a striped binding and a polka-dot backing. Michael and Sheba did not find out what they were having, so I used gold and grey fabrics from my stash to make a nice gender-neutral quilt. I machine quilted wide zig-zags in gold, and hand quilted in the solid grey stripe with red no. 8 pearl cotton.

WIP Wednesday: a quilt in progress

quilt in progress

The Eugene Modern Quilt Guild is having a solids challenge right now. We were each given a charm pack of 5" squares of solid color fabrics and challenged to come up with a quilt design using only those squares and additional solid fabrics. Here is what I've got so far. The spark for this design was inspired by this quilt by Rita of Red Pepper quilts. I finished sewing the quilt top over the weekend, and now it's hanging on the wall waiting for quilting inspiration to strike. I've had several ideas so far, but none seem just right. I'm going to let it sit a little longer and see what I come up with.
