Work in progress: cutting out a tiger applique, which is kind of like cutting out a stencil, only much harder.

Handmade Holiday: a quilted clutch
I made this little patchwork/quilted clutch for the handmade gift exchange at our Stitch & Bitch holiday party. It's 10" x 5". I used some scraps of Tula Pink's "Plume" line (left over from the doll quilt I made for lil' Amelia).

Handmade Holiday: a quilt-taggie for James
I've never understood the concept of "taggie blankets". They've always seemed too small and a bit strange to me. But a few weeks ago, we were over at a friend's house and James found her baby's taggie and went nuts grabbing and eating it. So, I figured he must like them!
I pieced together a 15" patchwork square, stitched it up with a larger piece of the Christmas fabric for the back along with batting and loops of ribbon, then quilted it in echo squares. Photos taken a little too quickly before wrapping, but I figure this is the best it will ever look! I hope James likes it.

Best of 2010: January
For the last couple years of my daily photo project, I've done a year-end recap where I've picked my ten favorite photos from the year. This year, I'm taking a page from Hilda Granhat (are you reading her blog yet?), and instead of waiting until the last day of the year to do one big roundup, I'm going to post my top three picks from each month over the last twelve days of the year.
