My shoeless urchins, stranded at the airport.
We had to pick up my grandmother from the airport, and I thought it was going to be a quick pick up and come back home, so when the kids couldn't find their shoes, I said, "forget it, ride barefoot." Then while we were at the airport, we got a flat tire AND the battery ran out of juice. We didn't have sweaters with us, either. Luckily we did have our picnic blanket in the backseat. Thank goodness for Dave from Dannevik's towing, coming to the aid of three damsels in distress and three children with no shoes.

my first lace shawl
Knit Picks Shadow (Jay) on size 6 needles. It's a half-circle, roughly five feet in diameter. This is the first lace shawl I've knitted, and of course I had to challenge myself with a complicated pattern! It looks tough, but really, I just followed the lace charts and wound up with this beauty. I love it. Took me two months of knitting (not every day) and only cost about $4 in materials!
